All your friends are belong to us or the magic law of the universe: the more you share the more bandwidth you have to receive

The above is a law of the universe, but it is difficult to remember since it seems counter-intuitive….all your fish belong to us…no wait..i mean, the more you give, the more you share. Contribute, the more space or bandwidth you have to receive the gifts the universe has in store for you. Gifts are sometimes more difficult. Thats another trick, to see everything, every day and moment as a gift. It is all training! All those experiences and trainwrecks!

Check out this story about the wealthy man Sudatta that illustrates the point. Basically Sudatta had 5 measures of rice during an extreme period of poverty when most people were gone. 5 of Buddhas came along and asked for a measure of rice. Sudatta gave them rice and from that time on he was super wealthy and he used his money to create tons of value.

Even this story can’t really articulate why you should share your wealth with the less fortunate, but that if you do you will reap big dividends in the future. I guess its a faith thing, you have to have *hope* that the “good causes” you make in the universe will return “good effects” in your life.

I think since we are in the guilded age again (read this Harvard Alumni Magazine article if you dont know it yet) its super important to not forget this golden rule.
